The hamsa symbolizes unity and collective responsibility within the Jewish community and our allies beyond. The Hebrew inscription "Echad" meaning "One" symbolized unity and oneness with G-d. It also represents protection, warding off negativity and attracting positive influences. Its open hand signifies peace, harmony, and goodwill for all.
The clasp of each chain includes a "proud" tag detail written in the font once used to write "Juif" or "Jew" on the yellow stars Jews were forced to make and wear during the Holocaust. Once used to humiliate the Jewish people, and is now worn as a symbol of PRIDE.
